Our Week So Far.....

The week has been fairly productive thus far. Monday morning was coop which was lots of fun as always. Ian is in the PreK class and they are doing My Body first period, Silly Action Songs ( Stephanie and I teach this one) and ABC Bible Verses third period. Morgan is in Mini Mysteries, Kids In The Kitchen and Pioneer Study. Kristen is taking Kitchen Creations, as is Aaron ( Stephanie and I teach that one). They both take Yearbook second period and then third period Kristen is taking Babysitting Cert. and Aaron is taking Life Skills ( Steph and I teach that one). Aaron is also playing drums for the little praise and worship we do for opening. After coop, Aaron went home with a friend and fellow band member to hang out. The rest of us ran by the library and then headed home. We did a few lessons Monday afternoon. The daily subjects which are math and Language Arts then we began our new loop schedule. So far we are all really liking the way of doing school.

The girl's lesson in Mystery of History was about Joshua, Jericho and Rahab. Momo had to reenact the story. She was supposed to build a small city ( Jericho) out of blocks but we don't have that many big blocks so she just did one tower. Then they had to march around playing "trumpets" and on the seventh time, the wall crashes down. She invited Sara over to do it with her and Ian. Here they are building the "wall".

And now time to march. They were also using the smaller Lego box to represent carrying the Ark of The Covenant.

YIKES!! Almost dropped it!!

OK.......they saved it and went back to marching.

Shouting the last time around.....They were shouting " Our God is AWESOME!!"

The walls came crashing!!

And here they are in the "rubble".

Silly faces of course.

After we were done with school, Kristen went to her small group and Randy had gone out to eat with some people from work. Ian fell asleep early so Momo and I just had a quiet evening. She painted my toenails for me.

Tuesday was a normal day at home. Here is Morgan working on her LLATL. She was putting words that have the same beginning letters in alphabetical order.

Kayden was also here on Tuesday morning. He and Kristen were playing while Morgan was doing her lesson.

She did them all perfectly!!

With the new loop schedule, Kristen is adding in Geography to her work. She began working on a lapbook for that. This lapbook is just general geography and then once she has finished that, she is going to do studies on different countries.

Aaron was getting some help from Ian and Kayden with his math.

Morgan worked on her life cycle lapbook some more.

Aaron added Art in as one of his loop subjects. He is really enjoying that.

The three big kids have all created their own blogs this week to use as a journal. Here is Kristen getting her's set up.

Here is Aaron's art picture in progress.
The finished picture. The whole thing was to be shaded in using solid, white, black, gray and stripes but none of the spaces could touch a space shaded in the same way.
Kristen decided to try out the Art as well.
This is the beginning of her work. She didn't take as many in between pictures of hers.
Kristen's finished work.

Momo ended up completing her lapbook Tuesday as well.

Here are a few , key word is few, of the books Morgan has been looking at and reading for this science unit.

Tuesday evening, after we ate dinner, Stephanie and her kiddos came over. Randy was giving her son, Tyler, a guitar lesson while the rest of us hung out. Here are the little boys. They snuggled up in my bed to play their sister's DS games! Cade caught me trying to sneak the picture....

So into their games......

Checking to see if I was still there.....

Silly boys......

NO MORE PICTURES!!

Then....they DISAPPEARED!!

Oh wait...there they are!!

While the little boys were having fun, Morgan and Morgan were having fun of their own. This was after they had all been playing board games.

Aaron was sharing the new song he wrote with Stephanie when I had to take the last picture of him being 14. Trying to be serious.....

..then not so serious......

Finally, just a good picture.

Before Stephanie and the kids left, Aaron had to fight his "girlfriend" for a birthday hug!!

He even snuck some kisses I think!!

Oh he finally got his arms around her!!

That was the first two days of our week!! It has been a great week so far!!

Wow what a great beginning to your week! I love the Mystery of History photos and enjoyed seeing the photos of them marching. That was a fast shot of you catching them almost dropping The Ark of Covenant. One that I surely would have missed. LOL!

Great Job on putting the words in alphabetical order Momo! Lindsay will be working on that soon and I am anxious to see how she does.

We need to put some more lapbooks together here. It has been awhile since we have done one. Your kiddos came out great! I really like Momo's life cycle one. I need to check and see if I have that one so that Lindsay can work on one since she is learning about the life cycle of frogs.

Those drawings for their art class are so cool! What book/website are you using?

I hope that the rest of your week goes as well as the beginning has. :0)
