Pay It Forward!!!

This isn't really school related but I am posting it here anyway since I have more readers here than on my personal ( very neglected) blog. Anyway, I was excited to be one of the winners of a Pay It Forward from my friend Sadie at The Ugly Gray House. I am copying this from her post.

I'm always up for a good challenge aren't you? Last week ( wasn't really last week), my friend, Sadie, presented a challenge on her blog that I didn't hesitate to be a part of. All I had to do was be one of the first 3 bloggers to leave a comment on her post and in doing so, I would receive a handmade gift from her. Yippeee for me! I was #2!!! Now, let me just say that I have received a couple of handmade gifts from Sadie before so I can't wait to see the fun, creative, and crafty thing she comes up with! Don't you just love receiving a special gift in the mail? Now it's your turn to be a part of this challenge....Be one of the first 3 bloggers to leave a comment here on my post. Those 3 bloggers will then receive a handmade gift from me. The first 3 bloggers can then pay-it-forward to 3 bloggers on their blog. All you have to do is:~ post this challenge on your blog~ the gift can be anything you choose and any price range~ and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. How about that for spreading some love around blog land!!!"

Let's see who will be the first 3 comments!! Have fun!!

Family Fun Day!

We decided to take a family fun day Thursday. We loaded up and headed to Oatland Island Wildlife Refuge. It was a perfect day and we has so much fun just walking and looking and being together. Here are the kids when we first arrived. They were looking at the snakes, frogs, rats and turtles inside.

Just when we were about to head out to walk, this very nice guide stopped us and asked if the kids would like to pet the alligator!

All but Momo touched him!

Bison sleeping in the sun. They are so huge but it is hard to really see their size while they are laying down.

Lots of pretty scenery

Lots of trees to climb! This would have been a cute picture if Aaron and Momo didn't have shadows on them!

Posing.....

Entering the Wolf Wilderness Cabin.

Inside the cabin are big windows so you can see the wolves up close!

We came across an armadillo as we left the wolf cabin.

Then we stopped to look at the wolves again from the walkway.

The girls checking out a little hut along the way.

We stopped at the pond to feed the turtles and the fish.

Aaron and I but I was squinting.

They all had to pose for this.....

Ian needed a rest so Aaron came to the rescue!

Momo looking at the deer.

to be continued.......

Fun Family Day! Part 2

Next we came to the Eagles.......we got to watch them being fed.

The sleepy owl.

Pelicans

Posing in the big eagle nest.

Hawks

Looking in at the burrow.

The biggest pig ever. It was fun to watch her playing with this big ball. She rolled it all over her pen.

Bunnies

Gobble Gobble!!

MAAAA MAAAAA!!

Onto the fox!

Heading out to the marsh walk.

Momo was not happy right that moment, she had tripped on the path and scraped her hand a bit. I thought it was a cute picture though.

Me and my hunny!!

Looking at the oysters, fish and crabs in the marsh.

Just being cute....

Relaxing for a minute.

The end of the marsh walk.

Ian telling us which way to the alligators!!

A mushroom along the path.

We spotted this tiny little woodpecker up in the trees.

The cougars were so pretty!

Interesting cranes.

The last stop was the bird aviary and the alligators. I don't remember what kind of birds these were.

Papa and the boys....

Can you spot the gator?

Kristen said these roots/sticks made a smiley face so she took a picture.

Us again.....

Mama and the girls......

Alligator nest. These are not real. Kristen was reading the info about this to Momo and when she came across the word "incubation" Momo was very excited that she knew what it meant. That was one of her vocab words when she was working on the life cycle lapbook.

Ian was making his "alligator" face next to this gator skull.

Aaron the alligator....

Momo the alligator.....

That was the end of our walk. We spent about 3 hours there and enjoyed every minute of it. On the way home we stopped at the Dairy Queen for ice cream!!
