The end of the week and Happy Birthday to Papa!!

After running some errands on Thursday, we went to the library for one of the summer reading programs. You may notice, all these programs seem to involve some sort of critters. The Summer Reading Program theme this year is "Catch the Reading Bug", hence all the "bug" related programs. Anyway, last week we saw Magic Chad Crews. The kids loved the program. When it was over Momo came up to me and said," That was INCREDIBLE!!"
Here they are waiting for the show to start.

Chad Crews is a biologist. He used magic tricks to tell us about different creatures and also told some stories. It was really neat. Here he is doing one of the tricks....

This scorpion was the result!!

Here he is showing us this empty box.....

then he lit a little piece of paper on fire in the box......

which resulted in this!!

Next, he pulled a millipede out of these little pots!

Kind of a dark picture but this is the millipede curled up on his hand!

He pulled this trash can out and told us we might get a little messy when he did this trick....

WATCH OUT!!! Don't worry, it was really empty, but soon after....

....this is what came out of the trash can!!

For his final trick, he has some adult volunteers, restrain him in a straight jacket and a big chain.

Here he is all tied up, waiting for his helper to start the timer. He had 2 minutes to escape.

Can he do it?

YES!! He did escape just as the 2 minute time was up.

After the program, he let the kids come up to pet the big snake, and he answered questions.

Ian wasn't so sure about touching this snake...but with Aaron holding him, he did it.

He decided it wasn't so bad and did it all by himself a few minutes later.

Later that afternoon, Morgan and Sara got a hold of Ian. I guess this is a privilege you get when you are the little brother to older sisters.......poor Ian.

I think he was thinking.....what have they done to me!!

They covered him in girlie stuff....glitter, make up, hair doodads, dress....the works. Then told him how to pose!!

Poor boy....yes, these will make great blackmail pictures when he is a teenager!!

OK.....he looks much better here. He pulled his drum set out to play some music with Papa later that night.

My handsome hubby!!

Momo posin' for fun!

Blowing kisses!
More drumming!
Momo's turn to drum....I think this drum set might be a little small for her....

But....she still had fun trying!

Friday was Randy's birthday. He worked and then had to go play a gig that night. We made dinner early and also made a pound cake for him. We ate and then let Papa blow out his candles before he had to leave. Lighting the candles.....

Signing Happy Birthday to Papa!
Everyone helped him blow out his candles!!

We had a busy but fun week.

What an amazing program..wow!
My Carter used to get dressed up by Madison. At first he was too young to realize what was happening. By the time he could, he was okay with it :)!! I have some cute pics too!
