A History Field Trip!!

On Monday, May 5th, we went for a day trip to Charleston, SC. We visited Patriot's Point. It was a lot of fun and we all learned something too! There was so much to see and we did tons of walking. Of course, I took lots of pictures too!

Looking out towards the aircraft carrier from the parking lot.

The entrance onto the aircraft carrier...

Lots to see, explore and learn!

One of the dining rooms.

One of the bunk areas......I am so happy I don't have to sleep like that!

Ian in a cockpit of an airplane. You can barely see the top of his head in there.

We climbed up and down MANY steep staircases while there. My legs reminded me of that the next day too!!

One small spec of the engine.

Out on the flight deck....

Looking down at the submarine!

The battleship and Coast Guard boats.

Finding some shade and taking a rest under an airplane wing! It was hot up there!

Ian trying out the captain's chair!

Getting ready to head out to tour the submarine. We stopped for a quick snack.

Just a sweet picture of Randy and Ian taking a little break.

About to go down into the submarine!

Goofy!

Checking out inside the submarine.

One of the larger areas, notice the bunks around the top edge!

A TINY kitchen ( all the kitchens were "decorated" as if there was actually food cooking)

Potty anyone? Not much room in there!

Back out on the other end...

Aaron in front of the aircraft carrier.

Now onto the battleship.

Checking out a remote control helicopter.

Boats in the marina....

The battleship kitchen.

Doctor's office.

Chapel

At the controls!

Papa and Mama!

Last tour was the coast guard boat. In the dining room.

When we were all done, we went downtown and ate a yummy dinner before heading home. I am sure we will be back to Charleston soon to see some of the other fun sites they have.
